Update for the City and County of Denver’s Cherry Creek Improvements Project
The Cherry Creek Improvements project includes storm sewer improvements on University Boulevard from Cherry Creek North Drive to East 2nd Avenue and Josephine Street and street reconstruction of University Boulevard from Cherry Creek Drive North to East 6th Avenue. The storm drainage improvements are needed to help reduce the frequency of flooding in the area. Construction for the initial phase of the project (2014) will install the new drainage pipe from the outfall to 2nd and Josephine.
What is the schedule?
January 2014: Storm drainage improvements begin near Cherry Creek North Drive with storm water pipe installation traveling north in the easternmost lane of northbound University Boulevard towards 1st Avenue.
Spring 2014: University Boulevard street reconstruction begins.
Late 2014: Planned completion for initial phase sewer and street improvements.
