Hundreds turn out for Community Workshops
The Denveright team hosted visioning workshops at five different locations across the city on October 4 and 5, bringing Denverites together to help shape the city for decades to come. Each workshop included an opening presentation, hands-on activities to provide input on various plan elements, and open-mic listening sessions.
Many conversations and activities at the five workshops covered a lot of ground. Common themes that emerged included equity and affordability, strong and authentic neighborhoods, improved connectivity, environmental resiliency, safety and community health.

A survey about your vision for Denver’s future recently closed after taking in nearly 3,000 responses. Questions were broad and focused on what Denverites like most about the city, and what they’d like to see change.
We’re working on an in-depth analysis, but in the meantime check out some of the main results at Denveright’s Your Voice page.
What’s Next?
We’re reading through all your feedback. From it, we’re drafting a vision for Denveright. We’ll be coming back to ask you – did we get it right? Watch this newsletter for more on that.
With a clear vision as our guide, from there we can all roll up our sleeves and begin developing the nuts and bolts of these plans. We’ll have more questions for you, like:
- For the Blueprint Denver land use and transportation plan: We know our city is growing – where should that growth go?
- For the Game Plan: How can we provide more park and recreation opportunities for more people, especially in our underserved neighborhoods?
- For the Denver Moves: Pedestrians and Trails plan: What should we prioritize in order to make it easier, safer and more enjoyable to walk around town?
- For the Denver Moves: Transit plan: What strategies and funding options can help us make specific transit improvements within our city limits?
These and other topics will inform the core content of the Denveright plans, and the answers will guide the future of our city for the next 20+ years.
In Other News….
Periodically, the City and County of Denver authorizes general obligation (GO) bonds to restore, replace, and expand infrastructure and capital assets across the city. Help shape the future of Denver roads, libraries, parks, city offices, animal shelters, and more as Denver kicks off the 2017 General Obligation Bond process.
