Subject: Water main and service line replacement project on Cook Street
Councilman New,
A water main and service line replacement project is scheduled to begin in the next two weeks on Cook Street from 14th Avenue to 12th Avenue. A doorhanger has been distributed to all residents in the project area reminding them know about the upcoming project. We anticipate the project will take about two months to complete.
All project timelines are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Water service emergencies, such as main breaks in other parts of Denver Water’s system, may also take precedence over this project. The crew may leave at a moment’s notice to work on those emergencies and may not return the following day.
As projects occur in your district, we will alert your office when customers in impacted areas are notified of project updates.
All permits and traffic plans have been approved by City and County of Denver.
Denver Water crews install or replace an average of 60,000 feet of pipe a year. Additional information on pipe replacement projects can be found at www.denverwater.org/pipes.
If you or your staff have any questions or concerns, or would like to visit the project site, please let me know.
Thank you!
