Free Online Renters Resource Launches in Colorado
Community resources, housing, money and legal issues and more
help renters make informed decisions
Denver, Jan. 8, 2021, Renters Avenue, a first-of-its-kind free online renters’ resource, launched today to help Colorado renters access hundreds of public and private resources related to the COVID-19 eviction moratorium, leasing, insurance coverage, co-living considerations, rights and obligations, financial tools and calculators, legal help and first-time homebuying tips.
Renters Avenue is developed and owned by Nancy Burke, Nancy Burke Consulting. The new online resource is translatable into more than 100 languages, is ADA compliant and mobile friendly.
Burke said, “In the Denver metro area, more than 46% of the population is comprised of renters. Some may be looking to move into a new apartment or purchase a first home and Renters Avenue provides easy-to-find relevant information to assist in making these important decisions.”
For over a decade, Burke served as vice president of government and community affairs in the multifamily industry and understands the needs of renters. She said the site was developed because housing is typically the largest single expense for many people who need access to information to assist in making educated housing decisions. Renters Avenue is also a valuable tool for homebuyers, seniors and veterans, property managers, realtors and financial service providers.
Burke added that Renters Avenue is focused on serving as a “community collaborative” providing outreach through community organizations. Access to the Renters Avenue platform is free and is made possible through business sponsors with no direct advertising or data collection.
Sponsors of Renters Avenue include Soopers Credit Union, White Crown Federal Credit Union, Colorado Realtors Association, KBNO, Alpine Bank, CHFA, Alpine Buick GMC, Xcel Energy, Brothers Redevelopment, Round Hill Pacific, Community College of Denver and Metro State University.
Christa Saracco, director of marketing and communications, Community College of Denver, said, “This housing and financial resource is a good tool to help our students gain access to hundreds of community resources.”
Dave Haden, Metro State University’s associate dean of student Engagement and wellness, said, “We continue to seek and promote supportive measures for our students. Renters Avenue provides information that will assist students with housing and finance decisions.”
Executive Vice President of Sooper Credit Union, Carrie Langgard said, “We are excited to sponsor this new resource as we financially empower our members on their life’s journey.”
