They will spoke to the ‘Preferred Alternative’ design which was developed from 3 iterations presented with public forums. They also presented the timeline for construction documents. They were joined by members of the DPR Pool Design Team to get a brief update on the construction that will be starting in the next month.
This project will restore portions of the historic DeBoer Waterway as a sustainable creek bed with water that runs the course of natural play experiences, based on Colorado’s eight ecosystems. The community’s voice is guiding project design . Prior community feedback has led to design concepts that include multi-sensory, self-directed, inclusive, multigenerational, multi-seasonal play, along with opportunities for learning, respite and engagement through authentic, natural, playful experiences for people of all ages and abilities.

I need bike access to Congress Park through to Cheeseman Park
As a member of the Congress Park Neighbors RNO, I have concerns.
How will those with mobility issues to access the upper courts?
Will people playing pickleball have to walk all the way around the pool house to access the restrooms?
Will kids on bikes be forced to cross 8th to get around Congress Park?
We sent your questions to the presenters from DPR, these were their answers
How will those with mobility issues access the upper courts?
The courts are outside of the pool project boundary and scope of work. DPR and DOTI are studying ways to provide better access, but that is not part of the pool project.
Will people playing pickleball have to walk all the way around the pool house to access the restrooms?
Access around the pool facility will be similar to what is provided now. The pool project moves the north fence farther north, but does not close off through access.
Will kids on bikes be forced to cross 8th to get around Congress Park?
With no real change to the sidewalk route south of the pool, folks should be able to get around the same way they currently do. The new sidewalk will be ADA compliant connecting the parking lot to the pool entry, and then tie into the existing walks near the courts.
Further questions should be directed to them.
