City Park Tours in April
Doors Open Denver 2017 is sponsoring tours of City Park on Saturday, April 29 (10:30 am) and Sunday, April 30 (1:00 pm). City Park enthusiasts, Patricia Paul, Barbara Wright and Georgia Garnsey will lead the tour, “City Park, Crown Jewel of the Queen City” for the third year. Tour participants will stroll though City Park’s green expanses and past its lovely gardens, fountains and statues for 60-90 minutes.

Small Lot Parking Exemption Vote – Councilman Wayne New
This survey made it clear that parking remains an important issue for residents of District 10. Even though 85% of the survey participants felt that no exemptions should be allowed, this is not the question before Council. If the original bill or the amendment did not pass we would default to the original zoning that does not require any parking on small lots. Therefore, Councilman Clark’s amendment, which provided the least parking exemption, was preferred. On Monday, I voted for Councilman Clark’s amendment which was passed by City Council with a 7 to 6 vote. A final vote and public hearing on this issue will be held in May.

NOISE VARIANCE REQUEST FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Noise variances are necessary when nighttime construction work is being proposed and noise levels above existing conditions are expected, Night work is scheduled to begin as early as May 2017 with approximately 45 days/nights of construction needed for the project to be completed by the end of October 2017.
The noisiest operations are expected to be pavement removal and repaving operations. More specifically the operations expected to produce significant noise are pavement milling, saw cutting, spoils removal and repaving activity.

Registration Begins Now for Electronics Recycling Event in April
Denver’s Electronics Recycling Collection Event on Saturday, April 15 at Metech Recycling (500 W. 53rd Place). Registration is required to participate – Denver residents can make an appointment online at https://april15-ecycle.eventbrite.com.
The event offers a significantly discounted recycling fee of $5 per vehicle or $10 for each television or monitor. Typically, the cost to recycle a television or monitor can range from $25 to $75 per unit!
