Please take this short survey as we prepare for a visit from Mayor Hancock. We need your input about what topics that you would like to have him discuss. There are also a couple of more questions that we are interested in and hope for your help
Short term rentals (STRs) are found in all parts of Denver with a noticeably heavy concentration of them in the central neighborhoods of District 10. Capitol Hill, Cheesman Park and Congress Park have the most STRs, but STR opportunities exist in almost all District 10 neighborhoods. On June 12, 2016, after two years of discussion, Denver City Council approved a measure to allow STR’s only in primary residences. The rules took effect on July 1st and gave hosts until December 31, 2016 to obtain a business license with the city, pay the city’s 10.75% Lodger’s Tax and come into compliance with the new regulations. Enforcement of the new law began on January 1, 2017.
The Game Plan (Denver Parks and Recreation’s visioning plan), as part of the Denveright initiative (www.denvergov.org/denveright) needs public input! We are at an exciting phase of the Game Plan as we are now looking forward to the future of Denver Parks and Recreation. Building off the previous community feedback, analysis of the existing system and national trends, we will focus on the completed analysis and preview draft opportunities for the future at these meetings. Each meeting will have Spanish interpretation available.
To our 9th and Colorado redevelopment neighbors:
As with any development and construction project, there will be instances where the surrounding neighborhood could be impacted (i.e. traffic alterations, noise, etc.). The 9th and Colorado team will strive to keep everyone informed of upcoming activities that may impact you.
We will make efforts to identify major upcoming activities, but please recognize that the 9th & Colorado redevelopment is a large and complex effort and there will be times where construction activities and logistics change.
Below is the construction activity anticipated for this month, beginning the week of March 1, 2017:
