FREE 3-part DIY Workshop to convert your thirsty lawn to a Beautiful Water-Wise Landscape with help from your Congress Park Green Team!
Sat, February 23, 2019 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM MST
Sewall Child Development Center 940 Fillmore Street Denver, CO 80206
Historic homes are part of the charm of Congress Park. But older homes can face some unique hurdles to achieving comfort and energy efficiency. The workshop will help participants lower energy bills and feel more comfortable in their older homes this winter, while also saving energy.
The CPNGT is teaming up with Denver Historic Planner, Brittany Bryant, and Paul Koepke of the Denver Energy Challenge program to present a free workshop on historic home energy efficiency, intended just for our neighborhood.
As Part of an online workshop series Congress Park sustainable neighbor Dr. Larry Grimm has interviewed professionals from two solar providers, Golden Solor and Sunrun. These recordings are available for anyone interested in learning more about the process and costs from two companies in the area.
The CPN Green Team is working to help CPN get our leaves to the Denver Leaf Drop this year. The City program keeps leaves out of the landfill and instead converts them into compost. Help spread the word to your neighbors!
Bagged leaves can either be dropped off at a local volunteer’s house OR picked up by a volunteer (drop offs and contact info for pick up provided below). Bagged leaves will then be transported to a Denver Leaf Drop site, or added to local compost sites. Note: If you see leaves in the alley, ask your neighbor if they know about the CPNGT Leaf Drop; we’ll be happy to collect their leaves too.
The neighborhood program will run through the end of the Denver Leaf Drop, December 2 @ 2 PM.
The CPNGT wishes to send a big shout out to some special people who have been instrumental in getting our neighborhood green team up and running. Sadly, each of these folks is moving on, either to other neighborhoods (no!!) or on to other related projects (phew! at least we not completely losing them!). Before they go too far, we wanted to let them know how much we appreciate all they contributed and that we are happy to have had the good fortune to work together and get to know each other, at least a bit.
The Congress Park Neighbors Green Team holds regular monthly business meetings and additional meetings as needed for various events. Meetings can be a wonderful way to meet like-minded neighbors and plan projects of mutual interest. Notes from meetings are posted here.
